11 July 2011 06:53 pmDay 11 – Genre – do you prefer certain genres of fic when you're writing? What kind do you tend to write most?
Depends on what’s meant by genre. I write slash and gen; in AS&J I write mostly serious stuff, with humor in it. In UNCLE it’s spy stories; in S&H, cop stories; in HP, there’s generally a magic-oriented plotline (unless it’s kinda cracky – I’ve done a couple of humor stories); in Star Trek it’s generally a serious plotline. Each of these fandoms is in a genre (western, science fiction, spy show, cop show, fantasy) and I write in the appropriate genre. Outside of AS&J I’m not a big western fan; outside of UNCLE, not a big spy genre fan; outside of S&H, not a big cop show fan. I am, in general, a SF and fantasy fan.
