(no subject)

In light of recent discussions regarding feedback and my failings therein (not that my particular failings were the point): To anyone who's sent feedback to me to which I never responded, I apologize. I have a reason that's not an excuse: Two changes of email address (one very recent) that involved moving/RL stuff, and an ignorance about how to change my email address on old stories in archives. The only thing close to being an excuse is I assumed very few people would be reading my stuff in recent years since it's old, so I didn't think updating my email address was urgent.

I don't suppose there's a mass of irritated readers out there, but if even one person sent me feedback in the last ... well, couple of years, really, and it bounced or disappeared into silence - that's why, and I apologize.

Zines. Why is K/S still in zines and not ONLINE WHERE I CAN READ IT RIGHT NOW? Argh. I've read all the good stuff I can find over and over. There must be more, and it must be free!! Free the K/S!

Sigh ... this is why people resort to writing their own, though, I guess. :-)

You know, I'm not sure why K/S has never gained a large presence on the net, especially on LJ. There's some, but most of the established writers still send their stories to zines. And even the not-so-established. Though I post MFU and Pros stories to the net, all my K/S stories go to zines. Maybe because there's still several K/S publishers, a lot of net writers eventually work their way over to zines, too.

(Any good online K/S first-time recs??? Pretty please?)

Two who have been online for years and are still two of the best are Killa and Jane St. Clair, though neither have written any new K/S in years. All their stories are good but Killa's Turning Point and Full Circle have probably turned on more people to K/S than any other stories.

The only thing I'll say about Jane's is that it's best to read them in order.

Then there's always the archive, where many zine writers are posting their work once they time out.

You can't go wrong with Jenna Hilary Sinclair's work, especially The World Turned Upside Down and Pacing the Cage. CatalenaMara's A Private Obsession is also a favorite. So is UKJess's Strong Together.

Hope that helps. :-)

Thanks for the recs. Sadly, I've read the ones you've named (and yes, they are good. I enjoy Jenna's stuff a lot). I keep trolling the archive hoping to spot something I haven't read before (same with the Side by Side archive)...sigh. BUT I don't think I've been to mirrorgirl's yet, so I'll try there (at least it doesn't sound familiar). I appreciate the recs - maybe I'll spot stuff I haven't read. It could happen. :-)

Sorry I couldn't be more help. But there isn't a lot of K/S going up on the net at this point. But I do know several zine writers who are planning on posting their stories to the Archive, so all I can tell you is to keep checking.

BTW, it's good to hear the DVDs might have you writing in MFU again. I'm keeping my fingers crossed. :-)

I appreciate the recs - if nothing else, at least I know I'm not unaware of some new wonderful site, you know? That's comforting. :-) I'll just keep checking the archive.
