The Canteen. The more I thought about what happened the more I realized that it made me very uncomfortable and was not something I want to be a part of or tacitly support. I quashed the temptation to post there about it, but I feel like making the simple statement somewhere. I'm still really weighing saying what I'd like to say.
As with any group of any sort, y'know, we all know where the door is if we don't care for the company or the way it's run. So be it. :-)
Made me uncomfortable as well. Thought about posting, but ended up deleting half-a-dozen attempts, for fear of starting a flame war. Very hard to get the right tone - I hope you have better luck than I did.
I'm assuming you did manage to read all 70+ comments before the thread was yanked?
You're dead right. There's an element of wanting to call out wrong behavior, then an element of "to what end?" and knowing all the nonsense that usually attaches to any debate ... it's hard to know what the best thing is to do.
Ain't it the truth? There's a point of diminishing returns.
I decided to start working on a vid instead - do something positive for the fandom, rather than adding fuel to fire. But still, I remain uncomfortable with the situation and will probably always kick myself for not speaking up.
