Day 09 – Pairings – For each of the fandoms from day two, what are your three favourite pairings to write?
No such thing as three favorite pairings. I’m an OTPer. Period.

I'm surprised not to see more answer to your question. I can't say I'm a real writer but the only pairs I have written anything about are Napoleon/Illya (well, rather Napoleon & Illya so far) and my beloved Bodie/Cowley from "The Professionals" (see icon). It's an unpopular, ill-fated pairing, so I don't get much feed-back (though the few I get are very encouraging).

Anything I'd add wouldn't be very informative! In most of my fandoms there is only one pairing that interests me, and it's the main characters - everyone else is secondary, even ephemeral (for instance, I love Captain Dobey in Starsky & Hutch, but don't really have any interest in writing about him). I can see other pairings and accept them, but they don't interest me enough to write about them. HP is the only fandom where my OTP is not only not obvious, it's actively horrible to a lot of people (even though it's grown vastly more popular over the years). I can't explain how it happened other than to say that what each character has in common is that he is very interesting and appealing to me. :-)

Seems I share your OTP in HP; my Bodie/Cowley is only slightly less shocking but the following is about nil (well, maybe a dozen of poor souls, most of which are too scared to act upon their kinks, or, maybe are not so strongly interested and even would prefer the common OTP if they have to choose). So, I feel very lonely in my little corner. Do you know the "Pros" fandom?

I don't know anything about Pros. I mean, I know it's an English show and they're policemen, but that's about it.

The funny thing about Snape-Harry is I started writing it just before a big swell in popularity (don't get me wrong, I'm not suggested I had anything to do with that swell!), and it was really considered disgusting by a lot of vocal people in the fandom. We did a lot of "explaining" back in the day about how we could see that pairing (I think the wiki entry links to some of that explanation).

Strange how that's gone away over the last few years. :-) Who'd have thought Snape-Harry would become almost mainstream?
