Well, y'know - no kids, no dogs. :-)

(And you can't see the cat hair all over everything)

Ooh, a fireplace, and a chess set, and books, and....can you tell I really like it? *g*

Fireplace, sadly, is nonfunctional. Even if it did, the stupid insert means no open flames. I used to love sitting in front of a fire in a previous rental in the winter with a good book and maybe some hot cocoa with Amaretto .... those were the days.

Wow, what a gorgeous living room! It's so neat and tidy! And that couch looks super comfy!

It's pretty comfy. It's funny. The couch is a handmedown from a college friend from when her dad passed away and left a condo in Palm Springs full of furniture. It's apparently REALLY well made (I've had two moving men on two separate moves spontaneously say "this is a really good couch" - how they can tell, I don't know. Weight?) but the actual upholstery is HIDEOUS. Bright bright flowers. Once I learned about slipcovers I was much happier.

Slipcovers are the way to go. Our first couch was a mess, but we covered it with blankets and it suit us just fine until we could afford a real one.
