Thinking...

...of posting a story from a zine here, rather than File 40, not out of any complaints with FF, but just for the heck of it. Wondering if other people have considered doing that, or have done it.

Well, I've been wondering, as I approach the end of a long story I'm writing, what the heck to do with it. I don't have a website, so I was thinking of doing the same, posting it here.

Why not do both? Many fandoms have more than one archive, it just makes it easier for people to find things.

Yes, some fans have definitely gone this route.

What you should do is post it here, then click on the heart icon so that it is linked on your Memories page. You can make a category of Memories titled "MfU fanfic", mention the URL in your bio and sig line...and that will effectively become a site containing your fanfic, using the LJ format.

Here's an example of someone who has done this:

I'd certainly link to a page like this.

Sweet!

Thanks, Clare. I didn't know how to do that, but that's WAY better than just posting it behind a cut tag. (assuming I do it right, of course)

I'd love it if you'd post it here. I'd recommend that you also post it at File 40, just so more people see it. :) As Kellie said, in Due South, people post all over the place. It makes it easy on the reader.

Can't wait to see it. :)

That sounds a good idea, Lee. Why not post here first, then send it to File 40 later.
